Trim the Stems
Upon receiving your bouquet, trim the stems at an angle using sharp, clean scissors or a knife. This allows for better water absorption.
Vase & Water
Clean the vase thoroughly with warm, soapy water to remove any bacteria. Fill it with fresh, lukewarm water.
Remove Extra Foliage
Remove any foliage that is submerged in water. Foliage that is submerged in water promotes bacterial growth which can shorten the lifespan of your flowers.
Add Flower Food
If your bouquet came with flower food, dissolve it in the water according to the package instructions. Flower food contains essential nutrients that help nourish the flowers.
Place in a Cool Location
Keep your bouquet away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and drafts. Flowers last longer in a cool environment.
Change the Water
Every two days, change the water in the vase. Before replacing the water, re-trim the stems at an angle to ensure optimal water absorption.
Remove Wilting Flowers
Remove any wilting or decaying flowers from the bouquet promptly. This prevents ethylene production, which can accelerate the aging process of other flowers.
Mist the Petals
Mist the petals of your flowers with a spray bottle filled with clean water. This helps to maintain their hydration and freshness.
Avoid Fruit and Ethylene Sources
Keep your bouquet away from ripening fruits, as they produce ethylene gas, which can cause premature wilting in flowers.
Avoid Overcrowding
If your bouquet is overcrowded, consider transferring some of the flowers to a separate vase. Overcrowding can lead to bruising and decreased longevity.
Handle with Care
When handling the flowers, be gentle to avoid damaging delicate petals or stems.
Arrangements that are set in an oasis should be kept moist but not waterlogged and should not be allowed to dry out.
Take Care:
- Berries and Lily pollen will stain.
- None of our flowers or berries should be eaten.
- Flower food should be kept out of reach of children.
